No doubt this goes without saying, but as a reminder, Governor Hickenlooper signed an Executive Order on June 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. banning open burn and private use of fireworks in the State of Colorado. The fishing is hot, too, though around the state. The Arkansas Tailwater below Pueblo Reservoir is fishing red hot in the early mornings from the dam to the Nature Center. Try a PMD or an emerger. If you are looking to get out of the Pikes Peak region, head to the southwest corner of the state where the San Miguel is fishing well late in the day until dark. Fish are taking Zebra midges and pheasant tail emergers along with elk wing caddis. To the north, Rocky Mountain National Park's lakes have been crazy with the evening lightning rounds.
Be safe and keep tight lines.
