If you came by the store last Saturday, you couldn't help but notice our packed parking lot and a whole bunch of boys running around - very inquisitive, well-mannered boys, I might add. Saturday was our Boy Scout Day at the Covey. This is an annual event where our staff and guides volunteer to help our local troops earn their Fishing and Fly Fishing Merit Badge.
Phil Benton, our Director of Services, masterfully organized the day, the volunteers and the Scouts. The boys were divided into groups and then rotated through stations where they learned about knots and rigging, entomology, fish types, casting, and lots of fun! Several of the parents joined in the festivities and even learned a few things themselves!
