We get it! We understand that as women, you wear many hats and have various responsibilities that compete for your time. For many of you, carving out a little "me" time just wouldn't happen if it wasn't for that gift certificate you were given for your Birthday or that friend who keeps nagging you about taking a class with her!
That's why at Angler's Covey we want to do whatever we can to make it easier for you to discover, explore and progress in your fly fishing. We have many options to make learning how to fly fish work into your schedule:
If a co-ed learning environment works for you, you can get a taste of fly fishing by attending one of our Orvis 101 classes. These are only an hour long, are offered weekly throughout the summer, and are FREE! They are a brief overview of what fly fishing is all about. You can follow this with the Orvis 201 class, $60, which gives you a taste of fishing on-stream.
For more in-depth beginner's classes, our co-ed Discover Series is a good option. The Discover Fly Fishing and DIscover Fly Casting classes are both offered weekly throughout the summer, last for about 2 hours, and cost $30 each. These can be followed by the co-ed Discover Streamside class which puts you on the water for a half day and costs $90.
If you prefer to learn in an environment where your instructors and the other students are women, then our "For Women Only" options are for you!

Our "For Women Only" Discover Fly Fishing Class is offered June, July and August for $30. This is a great chance to grab your friend, sign up, and take the plunge! The class is held at Angler's Covey in the evening for 3 hours, is taught by a woman fly fishing instructor, covers all the basics and includes a casting demonstration on our pond.
June 3rd, July 24th, August 5th 6-9pm

Whether you’re just getting started or need to brush up on a few skills, our Women’s Camp is a fun, non-threatening place to do it! Students benefit from the diverse experiences and approaches of our instructors while learning about equipment, fly selection, knot tying, safety, casting, catch and release, reading the water, fish habits and much more! Our 3-part camp consists of two evening sessions and one on-stream session, which includes a streamside lunch. Two camps are scheduled each summer. The cost is $175.
June 19th, 21st, 22nd
July 11th, 12th, 13th
Days 1 & 2 are 6-9pm in class, day 3 is 7am-3pm on the river
This is total flexibility! If your schedule doesn't work with the dates and times our classes are scheduled, then a private lesson that you schedule with one of our instructors at a time that works for you may be the answer. Ask at the shop or call us (719-471-2984) and we'll try to accomodate your needs.
Let us come to you! We would be happy to present or teach your group about fly fishing, whether a retreat, women's group or club, church group, etc. We can provide an introduction to or instruction in fly fishing customized just for you! Let us know what you're looking for and we'll do our best to accomodate you!
