There is nothing more exhilarating than landing your first fish on a fly you tied yourself.Want to learn how?
Come learn how to tie flies with Anglers Covey premier tying instructor Stan Benton. Stan teaches an intensive complete introductory class to fly tying. This class is 2 evening classes 3-4 hours each. You will come away with the skill and confidence to tie your own flies.
What you will learn:
Stan will begin the class by teaching all the needed basic techniques Like hook placement, starting thread, tie points, whip finishes. You will work with and learn about over 30 different natural and synthetic materials. Throughout the class you will learn how to use almost 20 different tying techniques.
After this class you can continue to improve your skills by putting them into practice by taking the next step and signing up for our patterns and techniques class. Click here for available classes and times.

ONE FLY CLASSES
Welcome to our new weekly fly tying class. These classes are going to follow the seasons and provide weekly instruction on specific patters, styles, and techniques. Take one or take them all. We will be having many of our premier local tiers and occasional special guests.
Cost: $25
Location/Times: Classroom 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Angler's Covey.
Date: Weekly on Wednesdays. See Calendar for dates and class
YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN THE DISCOVERY FLY TYING CLASS OR HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERINECE TYING FLYS. THIS IS NOT A BEGINERS CLASS.

Ever want to build your own custom fly rod? If so sign-up for this class. It’s taught by our very experienced Neil Leuhring. This class is 4 sessions over 2 weeks. The instructor will also meet pre class to purchase all of the correct materials for the complete rod.
Session 1- You will set your grip and reel seat.
Session 2- Selecting guides, layout and learning to wrap guides. (this class will require home work)
Session 3- Final prep and first coat of finish applied
Session 4- Signing name and final coat of finish
Cost: $90 (not including required materials)

Date: Feb 21,23, 28, and March 1, 4 sessions to complete a rod.

This is a 3-part class, 2 classroom and 1 on-stream
Whether you’re just getting started or need to brush up on a few skills, our Women’s Camp is a fun, non-threatening place to do it! Students benefit from the diverse experiences and approaches of our instructors while learning about equipment, fly selection, knot tying, safety, casting, catch and release, reading the water, fish habits and much more! Our 3-part camp consists of two evening sessions and one on-stream session, which includes a streamside lunch. Don’t miss out on the fun!

This is a Friday night/Saturday morning 2-part Class
Ladies, if you have started fly fishing, even just taking a class and going once or twice, but haven't been on the river in a while or feel you've forgotten a lot, this class is for you! We will spend one evening revisiting some of the basics, such as knots and rigging and fly selection. Then the next day we'll spend a couple of hours on the river together in Elevenmile Canyon helping you put it together.
