Pueblo Winter Trip

Pueblo, All Day!

Join us for fun winter fishing on the Arkansas River in Pueblo! Due to the colder winter temps, Pueblo is a great place to go and wet your line. There are certainly some additional challenges - staying warm, iced up guides, fewer bugs - but it's better than staying home and just THINKING about fishing! So ladies, layer up and join us! Please note: we recommend that more experienced anglers join us for this one.

On-Stream Aquatic Entomology Seminar

Saturday, May 28th - Memorial Weekend

Special PPWA Price $75 ($50 for the class - which is half of the regular $100 cost - plus $25 for collection kit) and a landing net seine is also required.

Aquatic entomologist, author and fly-fishing guide Robert Younghanz, THE BUG GUY, is providing this special opportunity just for our PPWA members! This is a DON'T MISS on-stream bug seminar! We will spend 2-3 hours with expert on-stream instruction learning about the invertebrates and connecting the dots between the insects and the fly patterns we use to imitate them. The collecting kit contains all you need to gather and label samples to remind you of what you've learned even after the class. Robert is providing this class to us at half price, so let's fill it up and show him how much fun he can have with a bunch of lady anglers!

San Juan River Trip

Wednesday – Saturday, May 11-14

Navajo Dam, New Mexico

Leave Wednesday night; Return Saturday (or stay the weekend!)

The San Juan River is a favorite of many anglers. The trout are generally more plentiful and larger than many other locations and you can float or wade. That doesn’t mean the fishing is easy, however! You will need to bring all of your gear (waders, flies, rod/reel, etc.) and you will choose where to fish for the weekend. A local Durango guide service, such as Fisheads, is a great option to get further information as to fly selection and suggestions of where to fish. You are on your own for lodging, but we recommend reserving a spot at Fishheads San Juan River Lodge. More information will be out soon. Mark your calendar and join us for this adventure!
