Experience a high altitude outdoor fly fishing experience this summer on the south slope of Pikes Peak!  South Slope Recreation Area will open for its fourth season this year and they maintain limited use which makes the fishing usually pretty awesome. The trip includes plenty of hiking so good physical shape is required - the terrain can be challenging. Fishing is along the shoreline. Permits are required per vehicle due to limited parking and controlled access. Therefore, this PPWA trip is limited, first come first serve.

Alma State Wildlife Area Trip

Saturday, July 11th

If you're looking for an adventure away from the crowds, small streams are the way to go! The fish may be smaller but they are often more plentiful and eager to take your dry fly. This part of the Middle Fork of the South Platte River boasts tons of brook trout that call the meandering water home. Plus, a bonus - there is a restroom and pcinic table for our lunch!

This is a great trip for anglers of all experience  levels, so join us for this fun adventure.

We will carpool and caravan from Angler's Covey up to Alma SWA, fish and then return home in the afternoon. The only cost is helping your driver out with gas and bringing your own lunch!

You can have dinner with the group, book it home, or stay overnight - camp or hotel. WDepending on the interest of the group, we may book a cabin that sleeps several. Don’t forget your swim suit and RSVP soon so we can start planning!
